| 1 | | AN ACT concerning regulation.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 356z.33 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (215 ILCS 5/356z.33 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 356z.33. Skin cancer screenings. An individual or |
| 8 | | group policy of accident and health insurance shall cover one |
| 9 | | annual medically necessary screening for skin cancer that is |
| 10 | | not otherwise provided as part of a routine dermatology |
| 11 | | examination. A policy subject to this Section shall not impose |
| 12 | | a deductible, coinsurance, copayment, or any other |
| 13 | | cost-sharing requirement on the coverage provided. The |
| 14 | | provisions of this Section do not apply to the extent such |
| 15 | | coverage would disqualify a high-deductible health plan from |
| 16 | | eligibility for a health savings account pursuant to 26 U.S.C. |
| 17 | | 223.

| 18 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January |
| 19 | | 1, 2020. |
