AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3148 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3148 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
4    "Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Local 
5Volunteer Board Member Removal Act.
 
6    Section 5. Definitions.  As used in this Act:
7    "Board" means a volunteer board or commission of a 
8governing or administrative body of a unit of local government.

9    "Member" means an appointed member of a board serving 
10without compensation, other than reimbursement for actual 
11expenses.

 
12    Section 10. Removal of volunteer board members. 

13    (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the person 
14or entity that appointed a member of a board may remove that 
15member for misconduct, official misconduct, or neglect of

2    (b) Removal under this Section is in addition to any other 
3method of removal provided by law.

 

4    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
5becoming law.".
