| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3432 as follows:

| 3 | | on page 1, by replacing lines 8 through 10 with the following: |
| 4 | | "Sec. 10-20.69. Trauma kit. |
| 5 | | (a) In this Section, "trauma kit" means a first aid |
| 6 | | response kit that contains, at a minimum, all of the following: |
| 7 | | (1) One tourniquet endorsed by the Committee on |
| 8 | | Tactical Combat Casualty Care. |
| 9 | | (2) One compression bandage. |
| 10 | | (3) One bleeding control bandage. |
| 11 | | (4) Protective gloves and a marker. |
| 12 | | (5) Scissors. |
| 13 | | (6) Instructional documents developed by the Stop the |
| 14 | | Bleed national awareness campaign of the United States |
| 15 | | Department of Homeland Security or the American College of |
| 16 | | Surgeons' Committee on Trauma, or both. |
| 17 | | (7) Any other medical materials or equipment similar to |
|

| 1 | | those described in paragraphs (1) through (3) or any other |
| 2 | | items that (i) are approved by a local law enforcement |
| 3 | | agency or first responders, (ii) can adequately treat a |
| 4 | | traumatic injury, and (iii) can be stored in a readily |
| 5 | | available kit. |
| 6 | | (b) Each school district may maintain an on-site trauma kit |
| 7 | | at each school of the district for bleeding emergencies."; and |
| 8 | | on page 4, by replacing line 3 with the following:

| 9 | | "life-threatening bleeding and, if applicable, how to use a |
| 10 | | school's trauma kit. A school board may satisfy the training |
| 11 | | requirements under this subsection by using the training, |
| 12 | | including online training, available from the American College |
| 13 | | of Surgeons or any other similar organization. |
| 14 | | In all matters relating to trauma response training, school |
| 15 | | district employees are immune from civil liability in the use |
| 16 | | of or failure to use a trauma kit unless the action constitutes |
| 17 | | gross negligence or willful or wanton misconduct."; and
|
| 18 | | on page 4, immediately below line 6, by inserting the |
| 19 | | following: |
| 20 | | "(a) In this Section, "trauma kit" means a first aid |
