SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
Appropriates various amounts from the General Revenue Fund to the Office of the State Appellate Defender for ordinary and contingent expenses and for the payment of a settlement. Effective July 1, 2019.

AN ACT concerning appropriations.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The following named amounts, or so much of those amounts as may be necessary, respectively, for the objects and purposes named, are appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to meet the ordinary and contingent expenses of the Office of the State Appellate Defender.

For State Contributions to Social Security.... $1,344,603
For Contractual Services...................... $2,683,500
For Travel....................................... $35,000
For Commodities.................................. $27,000
For Printing..................................... $28,000
For Equipment.................................... $28,000
For EDP......................................... $925,000
For Telecommunications........................... $43,000
For Law Student Program......................... $108,000
Total...................................... $22,798,618
Section 10. The amount of $125,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to the Office of the State Appellate Defender for the ordinary and contingent expenses of the Expungement Program.
Section 15. The amount $70,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to the Office of the State Appellate Defender to provide statewide training to Public Defenders under the Public Defender Training Program.
Section 20. The amount of $400,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated from General Revenue Fund to the Office of the State Appellate Defender for the ordinary and contingent expenses of the Juvenile Defender Resource Center.
Section 25. The amount of $1,067,045, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to the Office of the State Appellate Defender for a settlement of litigation in the case of Alice Washington vs. Office of the State Appellate Defender.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 2019.
