Amends the Transportation Network Providers Act. Provides that, notwithstanding any laws to the contrary, a transportation network company and a driver may establish by contract that the driver is an independent contractor and not an employee.

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Transportation Network Providers Act is |
| 5 | | amended by adding Section 17 as follows:

| 7 | | Sec. 17. Employment status. Notwithstanding any laws to the |
| 8 | | contrary, a TNC and a driver may establish by contract that the |
| 9 | | driver is an independent contractor and not an employee of the |
| 10 | | TNC.
