HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Joyce Hothan, Executive 
4Director of the Glen Ellyn Children's Resource Center
(GECRC) 
5on the occasion of her retirement  after five years of dedicated 
6service; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, During her tenure with the Glen Ellyn Children's 
8Resource Center, Joyce Hothan has
accomplished many noteworthy 
9achievements; in particular, she helped significantly grow the 
10organization's donations, allowing them to open a third 
11afterschool enrichment site and bring the
number of low-income 
12children served to 200; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, As Executive Director of GECRC, Joyce Hothan also 
14grew the program's volunteer
base significantly, surpassing 
15300 volunteers during the 2016-2017 school year; and
  
 
  
16    WHEREAS, Joyce Hothan served her  community throughout her 
17career; prior to joining GECRC, she worked for BRIDGE

18Communities and served homeless families in DuPage County for 
1916
years; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Joyce Hothan is leaving behind a lasting legacy 
21and has enriched the lives of many families in
DuPage County;

1therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
3HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
4we congratulate Joyce Hothan, Executive Director of the Glen 
5Ellyn Children's Resource Center
(GECRC) on her retirement,  and 
6we wish her the best in all her future endeavors; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to Joyce Hothan as an expression of our esteem and 
10respect.
