| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of the |
| 4 | | Honorable Charles Patrick "Charlie" Connor, who passed away on |
| 5 | | February 10, 2019; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Judge Connor was born in Joliet to John F. and |
| 7 | | Anna Marie (McCauley) Connor on December 14, 1928; he graduated |
| 8 | | from St. Patrick's School and Joliet Catholic High School; he |
| 9 | | studied engineering at Marquette University and earned his law |
| 10 | | degree from the University of Chicago; he served in the U.S. |
| 11 | | Army during the Korean War; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Judge Connor practiced law at Grey, Thomas, |
| 13 | | Wallace & O'Brien; he became a judge in 1965 and chief judge of |
| 14 | | the Twelfth Circuit in 1982; he left the bench in 1986 and |
| 15 | | served as mayor of Joliet from 1987 to 1991; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Judge Connor enjoyed jogging and could be seen all |
| 17 | | around Joliet; he participated in many local groups, including |
| 18 | | the Joliet Area Historical Society; he was a founding member of |
| 19 | | the Will County Irish American Society; and |
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Judge Connor was known for his depth of |
| 21 | | compassion, his zest for life, the strength of his integrity, |
