| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Esaw |
| 4 | | Peterson, who passed away on February 17, 2019; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Esaw Peterson was born on December 23, 1944; he |
| 6 | | served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where |
| 7 | | he obtained the rank of Sergeant and was awarded several medals |
| 8 | | and ribbons of honor; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Esaw Peterson moved to Bloomington to work for |
| 10 | | State Farm Insurance and retired after more than 30 years of |
| 11 | | service; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Esaw Peterson was a true community leader and a |
| 13 | | generous person who gave much to all of McLean County; he |
| 14 | | served on the McLean County Board and was chairman of the |
| 15 | | Justice Committee; he also served on the Bloomington Board of |
| 16 | | Elections Commission, where he oversaw elections and their |
| 17 | | operations in Bloomington; he was a member of the McLean County |
| 18 | | Republican Party, the Lincoln Club of McLean County, and Wayman |
| 19 | | AME Church of Bloomington for many years; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Esaw Peterson is survived by his wife, Cleo; his |
| 21 | | daughters, Rissa and Laurie; and his many other family members; |
