HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to commend Senorities Bracey on her 21 
4years of service to the children and families of the North 
5Kenwood neighborhood of Chicago; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Senorities Bracey is an early childhood education 
7teacher and the owner of the early childhood education program 
8Tailored Beginnings, which she founded in 1997; she turned a 
9dilapidated home in the North Kenwood area on the south side of 
10Chicago into a safe space to educate and empower young 
11children; nestled in a small corner of the community, Tailored 
12Beginnings has become one of the most sought after preschools 
13in the City of Chicago; and
  
 
  
14    WHEREAS, Senorities Bracey has said the most rewarding part 
15of her job is when children independently utilize the skills 
16and models that she has taught them and begin to formulate 
17their own strategies and opinions; she enjoys unlocking the 
18potential of a young mind and watching her students have that 
19"aha!" moment; and
  
 
  
20    WHEREAS, Senorities Bracey is a pillar of the community; 
21she teaches children to take ownership of their scholarly minds 
22and teaches families to give back to their community by

1supporting local businesses and participating in community 
2service projects; after 21 years of service, she is attending 
3the college graduations of her former preschool students; 
4therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
6HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
7we commend Senorities Bracey on her 21 years of service to the 
8children and families of the North Kenwood neighborhood of 
9Chicago, and we wish her many more successful years; and be it 
10further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to Senorities Bracey as an expression of our esteem 
13and respect.
