| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to commend A.C. Buehler III for his | ||||||
| 4 | exemplary service as a member of the Northbrook Board of | ||||||
| 5 | Trustees and his many valuable
contributions to his community; | ||||||
| 6 | and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, A.C. Buehler was elected to the Northbrook Board | ||||||
| 8 | of Trustees in April 1995 and has served the past 24 years; | ||||||
| 9 | prior to his time on the board, he served
on the Northbrook | ||||||
| 10 | Plan Commission for seven years from 1988 to 1995 for a total | ||||||
| 11 | of 31
years as a village official; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, During his tenure, A.C. Buehler served as chair of | ||||||
| 13 | the Housing and Human Services,
Contracts and Franchises, and | ||||||
| 14 | Public Safety Committees, as well as the Emergency Telephone
| ||||||
| 15 | Systems Board; he also served as a member of the Planning and | ||||||
| 16 | Zoning Committee and served as
co-chair of the Northwest | ||||||
| 17 | Municipal Conference Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee; and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, During his 14 years as chairman of the Public | ||||||
| 19 | Safety Committee, A.C. Buehler's expertise
and background in | ||||||
| 20 | fire safety was an asset to the community; having served as a | ||||||
| 21 | paid-on-call firefighter, he provided input contributing to | ||||||
| 22 | Northbrook passing a
residential fire sprinkler ordinance | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | requiring systems in all new single-family homes; he was
also | ||||||
| 2 | instrumental in promoting many amendments to the Northbrook | ||||||
| 3 | Zoning Code, including
a series of amendments to the | ||||||
| 4 | residential bulk standards and refinements to the downtown
| ||||||
| 5 | zoning regulations; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, A.C. Buehler shared his expertise by supporting
| ||||||
| 7 | technology improvements and innovations at the village and by | ||||||
| 8 | providing guidance and
expertise to the village's Information | ||||||
| 9 | Technology Department; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, A.C. Buehler is a graduate of Glenbrook North High | ||||||
| 11 | School and has lived in
Northbrook since 1959; he has been | ||||||
| 12 | active in the community as a Boy Scout leader,
avid cyclist, | ||||||
| 13 | and member of the Men of Glenbrook North High School Choir and | ||||||
| 14 | the Glenbrook
North Alumni Band Group; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, A.C. Buehler's service as a trustee highlights his
| ||||||
| 16 | ongoing commitment to the residents, students, and businesses | ||||||
| 17 | of the Village of Northbrook; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 18 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 19 | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 20 | we commend A.C. Buehler III for his exemplary service as a | ||||||
| 21 | member of the Northbrook Board of Trustees and his many | ||||||
| 22 | valuable contributions to his community; and be it further
| ||||||
