HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Mike Vitullo and Paul 
4Hamiti on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the founding 
5of their restaurant, Nabby's; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Bob Hlavin established Nabby's Restaurant in 1978 
7to serve hot dogs, hamburgers, and beef sandwiches
to the 
8Plainfield community; in early 1990, he  sold the business to 
9Paul Hamiti and Mike Vitullo, who kept the Nabby's tradition 
10alive; the restaurant maintained much of the original menu and 
11added  breakfast, lunch, and dinner
meals; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, A Plainfield staple, Nabby's has proudly served 
13the community well in its time at Route 59 and Main
Street; 
14with the goal of serving the highest quality of food and 
15service, it has  satisfied many customers over
the last 40 
16years, bringing together friends, family, and community, and it 
17continues to do so with its
excellent menu options and friendly 
18staff; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Not only does Nabby's provide some of the best 
20food around but it makes giving back a priority; it  continually 
21helps local organizations, including the Plainfield Interfaith 
22Food Pantry; and

1    WHEREAS, Nabby's has survived ups and downs, including the 
21990 tornado and the economic downturn of
2008, but its 
3faithful customers have continued their support through it all; 
4and
 
5    WHEREAS, Nabby's strong customer base drove the success of 
6the catering side of the business, where local residents
shared 
7their love of its food  with friends and family; the continued 
8demand for Nabby's has carried on, and their food can be found 
9today on popular delivery
apps, including Grubhub and Uber 
10Eats; and
 

  
11    WHEREAS, Over the years, the town of Plainfield has 
12provided a loyal base of customers for Nabby's, and the food,

13service, and atmosphere continue to make it a pillar of the 
14community; therefore, be it
  
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
16HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
17we congratulate Mike Vitullo and Paul Hamiti on the 40th 
18anniversary of the founding of their restaurant, Nabby's, and 
19commend them for their dedication to their community; and be it 
20further
  
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
