HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, Auctioneering is one of history's oldest 
3professions; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, Auction professionals create a competitive 
5marketplace and connect buyers with sellers wishing to sell 
6their assets for the highest dollar value; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The National Auctioneers Association and its 
8members strive to advance the auction method of marketing and 
9subscribe to a strict Code of Ethics when serving the American 
10public; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Auction professionals are proud business owners 
12who support their communities; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, A National Auctioneers Day has been observed for 
14more than 25 years by State and local governments as well as by 
15private organizations; and
  
 
  
16    WHEREAS, By designating an Auctioneers Day, cities and 
17states will heighten public awareness of the contributions made 
18by auction professionals to our nation's history and economy;

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
2HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3that we declare May 4, 2019 as Auctioneers Day in the State of 
4Illinois; and be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the Illinois State Auctioneers Association.
