| 2 | WHEREAS, The University of Illinois is one of the
world's

| 3 | best research institutions; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, The University has campuses in Chicago,

| 5 | Urbana-Champaign, and Springfield; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Undergraduate students at all three
campuses
| ||||||
| 7 | engage in research on cutting-edge topics under the
guidance of
| ||||||
| 8 | their professors; and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Northern Illinois University is recognized by
the | ||||||
| 10 | Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching
in the | ||||||
| 11 | category of Research Universities; and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Northern Illinois University is among the small
| ||||||
| 13 | percentage of public institutions designated as
Innovation and | ||||||
| 14 | Economic Prosperity Universities by the
Association of Public | ||||||
| 15 | and Land-grant Universities; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Northern Illinois University has campuses in
| ||||||
| 17 | DeKalb, Chicago, Hoffman Estates, Naperville, and
Rockford; | ||||||
| 18 | and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Students from both universities are making
poster
| ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | presentations about their research for the Illinois
Innovation | ||||||
| 2 | Network Research Day
in the State Capitol on May 2,
2019; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, The students have received excellent
guidance
| ||||||
| 4 | from staff and faculty at both universities in
preparation for
| ||||||
| 5 | this day; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 6 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 7 | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 8 | we
extend our congratulations to all of the University of
| ||||||
| 9 | Illinois and Northern Illinois University students and their | ||||||
| 10 | advisors for their creativity and
inquisitiveness; and be it | ||||||
