HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Danny Rieger on the 
4occasion of his retirement from the Bloomington Country Club 
5after 42 years of service; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Danny Rieger's career in maintaining golf courses 
7began when he worked as the Assistant Golf Course 
8Superintendent at the Urbana Country Club; he moved to the 
9Bloomington Country Club in 1977 to work as the Assistant 
10Superintendent; in 1984, he  was promoted to Golf Course 
11Superintendent; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Over his years at the Bloomington Country Club,  
13Danny Rieger oversaw countless projects and improvements to the 
14golf course and buildings, including re-grassing of the greens 
15and fairways and a new irrigation system in 2000;  most 
16recently, he oversaw the reconstruction of the golf course 
17bunkers and acted as general contractor for the construction of 
18a new cart storage facility; the improvements he made to the 
19club have had a great impact, making it what it is today; he  
20and his team have created a reputation for top-notch golf 
21course conditions that has attracted many high-level amateur 
22golf tournaments, including the 2018 Illinois State Amateur 
23Championship; and

1    WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Danny Rieger was not only a 
2key part of the team at Bloomington Country Club but also a 
3steward of the golf industry, having served as president of the 
4Central Illinois Golf Course Superintendents Association twice 
5and having spent many years on its board of directors; and
  
 
  
6    WHEREAS, Along with his work on the course, Danny Rieger is 
7also a family man; he and his wife Becky have two children and 
8two grandchildren, who all reside in the area; therefore, be it
  
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
10HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
11we congratulate Danny Rieger on his retirement from the 
12Bloomington Country Club after 42 years and wish him the best 
13in all his future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
15presented to Danny Rieger as a symbol of our respect and 
16esteem.
