| 2 | | WHEREAS, The Department of Illinois Marine Corps League is |
| 3 | | celebrating its 75th Annual Convention in Raymond in June 2019; |
| 4 | | and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, The Department of Illinois Marine Corps League is |
| 6 | | an organization that was chartered by Congress in 1937, was |
| 7 | | founded by Major General John A. LeJeune, and held its first |
| 8 | | annual convention in 1944; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, The purpose of the Department of Illinois Marine |
| 10 | | Corps League is to preserve the traditions and to promote the |
| 11 | | interests of the United States Marine Corps and to band those |
| 12 | | who are now serving in the United States Marine Corps and those |
| 13 | | who have been honorably discharged from the service together in |
| 14 | | fellowship that they may effectively promote the ideals of |
| 15 | | American Freedom and Democracy; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, The organization's motto is, "We are here to |
| 17 | | honor, respect and assist all past, present and future Marines |
| 18 | | and the country we love"; therefore, be it
|
| 19 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 20 | | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 21 | | we congratulate the Department of Illinois Marine Corps League |
