| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Wanda J. Sharp on the |
| 4 | | occasion of her retirement from the Office of the Illinois |
| 5 | | Secretary of State Jesse White; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Wanda Sharp was born in Chicago; she worked as a |
| 7 | | supervisor, safety trainer, and coordinator for the Ford Motor |
| 8 | | Company; she served on the board of trustees for the Village of |
| 9 | | Maywood and was involved with the Democratic Party; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Wanda Sharp was appointed to the Illinois House of |
| 11 | | Representatives in January 1999 and served until 2001; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Wanda Sharp has spent her life working on behalf |
| 13 | | of her community, her family, at-risk children, and criminal |
| 14 | | justice reform; and |
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Wanda Sharp has been an active member of the |
| 16 | | Progressive Life Giving Word Church, where she has lived out |
| 17 | | the principles of her faith in her everyday life; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Wanda Sharp has been a role model and advocate for |
| 19 | | more women of color in the workplace and in positions of power; |
