| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Eddie L. |
| 4 | | Jones II, who passed away on May 27, 2019; and

| 5 | | WHEREAS, Eddie Jones II was born in Cotton Plant, Arkansas |
| 6 | | to Eddie L. and Rosie L. Jones on March 27, 1952; he moved to |
| 7 | | Chicago with his family in 1956; he spent his childhood and |
| 8 | | teenage years in the Chicago neighborhood now referred to as |
| 9 | | Bronzeville; he attended Mayo Elementary School and graduated |
| 10 | | from Wendell Phillips High School in 1970; he received a |
| 11 | | bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Western |
| 12 | | Illinois University in 1974; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Eddie Jones II worked for IBM for over 30 years; |
| 14 | | after leaving IBM, he worked for All Points Security; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Eddie Jones II was a lifelong member of Alpha Phi |
| 16 | | Alpha fraternity, where he served as the Chapter President of |
| 17 | | Iota Delta Lambda and chairman of the March of Dimes; he served |
| 18 | | as chairman of the Iota Delta Lambda Educational Foundation for |
| 19 | | ten years; he was a dedicated philanthropist and traveled to |
| 20 | | Africa with the White House Advance Team under President Bill |
| 21 | | Clinton; he was a prominent face and force in city and State |
| 22 | | politics and served as president of the Chicago Urban League |
