HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Keith 
4Tate of Chicago, who passed away on December 17, 2018; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Keith Tate was the oldest of three children born 
6to the union of Elwin L. Tate and Ola M. Dixon; he was raised on 
7the South Side of Chicago in the historic Chatham neighborhood; 
8and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Keith Tate graduated from St. Dorothy School and 
10Hales Franciscan High School; he received his Bachelor of 
11Science in Business and Administration, with a concentration in 
12Accounting, from Chicago State University; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Keith Tate was actively involved in his community, 
14where he served as President of the Chatham-Avalon Community 
15Council for many years and as President of the Hales Franciscan 
16Alumni Association; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Keith Tate was a devoted husband of more than 40 
18years to his wife Shirley and a devoted father to their two 
19sons, Marcus and Rawling; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Keith Tate had a full career, working for multiple

1health care groups and hospitals before retiring from the 
2University of Chicago after 25 years of employment; he will 
3forever be remembered for his love of family, friends, and 
4service to his community; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
6HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
7we mourn the passing of Keith Tate and extend our sincere 
8condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
9him; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Keith Tate as an expression of our 
12deepest sympathy.
