HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Glenside Fire 
4Protection District on the occasion of its 50th anniversary; 
5and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Glenside Fire Protection District was created 
7in June of 1969 through a referendum approved by the voters of 
8the Glen Ellyn countryside unincorporated area and the voters 
9of the Village of Glendale Heights; in October of 1970, a new 
10fire station was dedicated under the command of the first 
11chief, Robert Arens; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, The Glenside Fire Protection District fire 
13station received renovations in 1984, 1994, and 2004; the 2004 
14renovation is expected to enable the fire station to serve the 
15community for the next century; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Today, the Glenside Fire Protection District is a 
17multi-million dollar operation, which protects the  34,000 
18citizens of the community 24 hours each day, 365 days each 
19year; therefore, be it
  
 

  
20    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
21HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1we congratulate the Glenside Fire Protection District on its 
250th anniversary and wish them many more successful years; and 
3be it further
  
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
5presented to the Glenside Fire Protection District as a symbol 
6of our respect and esteem.
