| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Pastor Elder Andre' R. |
| 4 | | Fluker on 15 years of pastoral leadership and 30 years of |
| 5 | | ministry; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Pastor Fluker initiated the Unity Tour, where 25 |
| 7 | | pastors from the North Lawndale community united with |
| 8 | | congregants to form K2K, a prayer chain on 16th Street that |
| 9 | | reached from Kedzie Avenue to Kostner Avenue; participants |
| 10 | | included State Representative Art Turner, Senator Patricia |
| 11 | | Watkins, and the late Alderman Michael Chandler; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Pastor Fluker organized a monthly North Lawndale |
| 13 | | community Prayer Around the School initiative, where |
| 14 | | congregants from several churches gather on the first Saturday |
| 15 | | of each month to pray around the school that the congregation |
| 16 | | adopted; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Pastor Fluker served as Chairman for Lawndale |
| 18 | | CARE, the CARE Initiative under Mayor Emanuel; during that |
| 19 | | time, the 24th Ward saw an increase in growth and development; |
| 20 | | and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Pastor Fluker coordinated the UpWard 24 |

| 1 | | Ministerial Alliance, a group of concerned pastors united for |
| 2 | | change, growth, and development in the 24th Ward under the |
| 3 | | leadership of the Alderman Michael Scott administration; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Each year, Pastor Fluker and All Nations Church |
| 5 | | donate over 200 book bags and school supplies to the children |
| 6 | | and family members of incarcerated Lawndale citizens; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Pastor Fluker founded the Urban Tree Community |
| 8 | | Outreach, a not-for-profit organization through All Nations |
| 9 | | Church that hosts yearly life-changing events to stimulate, |
| 10 | | motivate, and activate residents of the North Lawndale |
| 11 | | Community and the City of Chicago; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Pastor Fluker founded the Widow's Might |
| 13 | | Foundation to empower, encourage, and educate seniors in |
| 14 | | assisted living facilities and to keep them strong, stable, and |
| 15 | | safe from predators and loneliness; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Pastor Fluker has always been available to work |
| 17 | | with the Mayor, Alderman, Senator, and State Representative to |
| 18 | | create change and promote a strong, viable community; he has |
| 19 | | been a faithful and consistent community organizer for the 24th |
| 20 | | Ward; therefore, be it
