HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Chief Bernie Sebold on the 
4occasion of his retirement from the Alton Fire Department after 
524 years of dedicated service; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Chief Sebold is a lifelong resident of the 
7Riverbend region; he graduated from Marquette Catholic High 
8School in Alton in 1992; he earned an associate's degree from 
9Lewis and Clark Community College, a bachelor's degree in fire 
10service management from Southern Illinois University 
11Carbondale, and a Master of Business Administration from 
12Missouri Baptist University; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Chief Sebold began his career as a volunteer 
14firefighter with the Godfrey Fire Protection District while 
15pursuing his fire science degree and his license as an 
16Emergency Medical Technician; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Chief Sebold joined the Alton Fire Department in 
181995; he was named Fire Chief in April 2012; and
  
 
  
19    WHEREAS, Chief Sebold and his wife, Jenn, are parents to 
20Hayden, Coleton, and Layni; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
2HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we congratulate Chief Bernie Sebold on the occasion of his 
4retirement from the Alton Fire Department and thank him for his 
524 years of dedicated service to the Riverbend region; and be 
6it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to Chief Sebold as an expression of our esteem and 
9respect.
