HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events taking place in our State; and

WHEREAS, This year marks the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Peoria Area Association of Realtors; and

WHEREAS, The Peoria Area Association of Realtors was founded on the evening of March 15, 1920 when Henry M. Pindell, owner of the Journal Transcript, convinced 110 real estate men from the Peoria area to gather at the Jefferson Hotel for the purpose of forming an association; and

WHEREAS, The Peoria Area Association of Realtors was incorporated by the Secretary of State on April 1, 1920 as the Peoria Realty Board, and soon thereafter, the organization was accepted as a member of the National Association of Realty on June 1, 1920; and

WHEREAS, The Peoria Area Association of Realtors has served its members and community well by developing and promoting unique business services and programs in professional development and consumer protection; and

WHEREAS, The Peoria Area Association of Realtors continues to inform, involve, and strengthen the entire Peoria region by educating consumers and protecting private property rights; it allows people to exchange information and ideas with their peers, build and develop relationships, and gain access to industry knowledge that allows their members to further their careers and education; it has developed critical community projects to assist those in need in the region; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Peoria Area Association of Realtors on the 100th anniversary of its founding, and we honor their commitment and service to their community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Peoria Area Association of Realtors as an expression of our respect and esteem.
