| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION

| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Christopher Joel L. | ||||||
| 4 | Cabalfin on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Christopher Cabalfin is a member of Boy Scouts of | ||||||
| 6 | America Troop 290; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Christopher Cabalfin's Eagle Scout project was to | ||||||
| 8 | collect humanitarian goods such as underwear,
toothpaste, | ||||||
| 9 | shampoo, and garbage bags for WINGS (Women In Need Growing | ||||||
| 10 | Stronger), whose mission
is to provide housing, services, | ||||||
| 11 | education, and advocacy to end domestic violence; he set up | ||||||
| 12 | three donation
drives on different Saturdays in April around | ||||||
| 13 | Hoffman Estates; all monetary donations were given to WINGS
to | ||||||
| 14 | put towards their programs; he advertised his project through | ||||||
| 15 | the combined efforts of his troop, his family and friends, his | ||||||
| 16 | high school, and the Hoffman Estates Chamber Of Commerce; | ||||||
| 17 | physical and digital posters helped raise awareness and a large | ||||||
| 18 | blue tent on the side of Golf
Road and multiple poster boards | ||||||
| 19 | accompanied by silly dancing by his fellow scouts also helped | ||||||
| 20 | attract attention; and
| ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, Christopher Cabalfin has been a part of many | ||||||
| 22 | exciting opportunities while being a member of Troop 290; he | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | has taken summer trips to Camp Napowan in Wild Rose, Wisconsin | ||||||
| 2 | and slept aboard the USS Silversides, a decommissioned | ||||||
| 3 | submarine on display in Muskegon, Wisconsin; in 2017, he | ||||||
| 4 | attended the National Scout Jamboree; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Christopher Cabalfin is a Brotherhood member of | ||||||
| 6 | the Order of the Arrow; for years, he was Troop 290's | ||||||
| 7 | representative for the Order of the Arrow; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Christopher Cabalfin graduated from Hoffman | ||||||
| 9 | Estates High School; he currently attends Triton College in | ||||||
| 10 | Melrose Park, with plans to earn an Associate's Degree in | ||||||
| 11 | Applied
Science in Automotive Technology and then transfer to | ||||||
| 12 | Southern Illinois
University and earn a Bachelor's of Science | ||||||
| 13 | in Automotive Technology; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Christopher Cabalfin will be honored at an Eagle | ||||||
| 15 | Scout Court of Honor on November 30, 2019; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 17 | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 18 | we congratulate Christopher Joel L. Cabalfin on achieving the | ||||||
| 19 | rank of Eagle Scout, and we wish him the best in all his future | ||||||
| 20 | endeavors; and be it further
| ||||||
| 21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
