| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION

| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Marilyn D. Glazer on the | ||||||
| 4 | occasion of her retirement as Niles Township Supervisor; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Marilyn Glazer was first elected as a trustee for | ||||||
| 6 | Niles Township in 2005; she served in that position until 2014 | ||||||
| 7 | when she began her time as township supervisor; at the time of | ||||||
| 8 | her appointment to township supervisor, she was the | ||||||
| 9 | longest-serving township trustee on the board; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, As a board member, Marilyn Glazer supervised the | ||||||
| 11 | Niles Township food pantry and instituted additional programs | ||||||
| 12 | to help the underprivileged in Niles Township; some of those | ||||||
| 13 | programs included senior legal services, immigration services, | ||||||
| 14 | LIHEAP, arranging regular visits from U.S. Rep. Jan | ||||||
| 15 | Schakowsky's office to help
with social security problems, and | ||||||
| 16 | collecting school supplies for local children who could not | ||||||
| 17 | afford them; and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Marilyn Glazer is a native of Chicago and has been | ||||||
| 19 | a resident of Skokie for over 40 years; she has enjoyed a long | ||||||
| 20 | and successful career as a realtor and real estate teacher; she | ||||||
| 21 | owns her own real estate brokerage company, Marilyn D. Glazer, | ||||||
| 22 | REALTOR and is president of a real estate education company she | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | founded, Glazer Enterprises; she has also served on the Skokie | ||||||
| 2 | Zoning Board of Appeals and as director of the Skokie Caucus | ||||||
| 3 | Party; and | ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Marilyn Glazer served as president of the North | ||||||
| 5 | Shore Board of REALTORS in 1985 and as past president of the | ||||||
| 6 | Association of Illinois Real Estate Educators; among her many | ||||||
| 7 | awards are
1986 REALTOR of the Year from the North Shore Board | ||||||
| 8 | of REALTORS, 1999 REALTOR of the Year from the Illinois
| ||||||
| 9 | Association of REALTORS, 1997 Educator of the Year from the | ||||||
| 10 | National Association of REALTORS, and 1998
Educator of the Year | ||||||
| 11 | from the Association of Illinois Real Estate Educators; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Marilyn Glazer enjoys traveling, especially to | ||||||
| 13 | Florida during the cold season, with her twin sister; she | ||||||
| 14 | remains active in her synagogue, B'nai Jehoshua Beth Elohim in | ||||||
| 15 | Deerfield, and the Women's Council of Realtors; she also | ||||||
| 16 | remains involved with the Illinois Realtors and the North Shore | ||||||
| 17 | Realtors committees; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Marilyn Glazer's retirement plans include | ||||||
| 19 | continuing her work in the real estate industry and traveling | ||||||
| 20 | more with her sister; she plans to take more Jewish study | ||||||
| 21 | courses at her synagogue and spend time enjoying her book club, | ||||||
| 22 | playing Mahjong, and learning Canasta; therefore, be it
| ||||||

| 1 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 2 | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 3 | we congratulate Marilyn D. Glazer on her retirement as Niles | ||||||
| 4 | Township Supervisor, and we wish her the best in all her future | ||||||
| 5 | endeavors; and be it further
| ||||||
| 6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 7 | presented to Marilyn Glazer as a symbol of our respect and | ||||||
| 8 | esteem.
