HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Coach Jose Villa and the 
4West Chicago Community High School boys soccer team, the 
5Wildcats, on  winning the 2019 Illinois High School Association 
6Class 3A Championship; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The Wildcats advanced to the finals along with 
8other schools from
around the State, including Morton West High 
9School of Berwyn, St. Patrick High School of
Chicago, and 
10Edwardsville High School; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, On November 9, 2019, the Wildcats faced off 
12against Morton
West High School in the final game of the 
13competition, beating  the Mustangs 2 to 0 and securing the 
14championship and their place in history as state champions; and
  
 
  
15    WHEREAS, The Morton Mustangs had not lost to another 
16Illinois-based team prior to this defeat,
and the Wildcats did 
17not advance past the regional competition stage during the 2018 
18season, making this
win even more significant; therefore, be it
  
 
  
19    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
20HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
21we congratulate Coach Jose Villa and the West Chicago Community

1High School boys soccer team, the Wildcats, on  winning the 2019 
2Illinois High School Association Class 3A Championship, and we 
3wish them many more successful seasons; and be it further
  
 
4    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
5presented to the members and coaches of the Wildcats as an 
6expression of our esteem and respect.
