| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Kenneth |
| 4 | | "Kenny" Allen; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Kenny Allen was born in Chicago to Sadie Allen on |
| 6 | | December 27, 1965; he attended John A. Sbarbaro Elementary |
| 7 | | School and graduated from Simeon Vocational High School, where |
| 8 | | he was a star athlete and basketball player; he led the |
| 9 | | Wolverines to the 1983–84 Illinois High School Association |
| 10 | | Basketball Championship and was named MVP; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Kenny Allen had an entrepreneurial spirit; he |
| 12 | | loved exploring new opportunities, generating innovative |
| 13 | | ideas, and working with his hands; for the last several years, |
| 14 | | he worked closely with his cousin, John Allen, as an |
| 15 | | independent contractor for Al's Fast Service; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Kenny Allen was affectionately known as "Red"; he |
| 17 | | had an infectious smile and loud laugh that would win anyone |
| 18 | | over; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Kenny Allen was preceded in death by his mother; |
| 20 | | his brother, Harold Allen; and other family members and |
| 21 | | friends; and
