HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Benet Academy girls 
4soccer team, the Redwings, on winning the 2019 Illinois High 
5School Association Class 2A state championship; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Redwings claimed their first championship in 
7school history with a 2 to 1 overtime victory over Wauconda 
8High School at North Central College; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, The Redwings compiled an impressive record of 24 
10wins, 3 losses, and one tie on the path to their championship 
11during the 2019 season; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, The Redwings are coached by Head Coach Gerard 
13Oconer and
assistant coaches Bob Gros, Kim Sayers, Martin 
14Uscila, and Henry Wind; the team managers are  Jason Byrne, 
15Chandler Hart, Patrick Michalik, and CJ Warren; and
  
 
  
16    WHEREAS, The Redwings are Sarah Bozych, Kayla Brannigan, 
17Nicole Burns, Abby Casmere, Gracie Chalkey, Jaimee Cibulka, 
18Kate Flynn, Eva Frantzen, Mary Kate Hansen, Karina Krammer, 
19Katie Lewellyan, Emily Mikitka, Paige Neri, Cami Picha, Brooke 
20Pullen, Dani Pullen, Maggie Roche, Ava Rogers, Mia Tommasone, 
21Mae Tully, Mia Ullmer, and Mary Kate Wilhelm; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
2HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we congratulate the Benet Academy girls soccer team, the 
4Redwings, on winning the 2019 Illinois High School Association 
5Class 2A state championship, and we wish them many more 
6successful seasons; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
8presented to the coaches and members of the Redwings as a 
9symbol of our respect and esteem.
