| 2 | | WHEREAS, November is traditionally designated as National |
| 3 | | Family Caregivers Month to honor the more than 40 million |
| 4 | | caregivers across the country who support aging parents, ill |
| 5 | | spouses, or other loved ones with disabilities who remain at |
| 6 | | home; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Seven percent of family caregivers were age 75 or |
| 8 | | older, a share that has gone up steadily in the past two |
| 9 | | decades; often the recipient is a spouse with dementia or heart |
| 10 | | disease who needs a high level of care; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, By providing billions of dollars' worth of |
| 12 | | caregiving services each year, caregivers dramatically reduce |
| 13 | | the demands on the nation's healthcare system and make an |
| 14 | | extraordinary contribution to the quality of life of their |
| 15 | | loved ones; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, These everyday heroes, living quietly among us in |
| 17 | | families and communities across the country, are the major |
| 18 | | source of long-term care in America; therefore, be it
|
| 19 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 20 | | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
