HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Kiwanis Club of Elgin 
4on the occasion of its 100th anniversary in 2020; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, The Kiwanis Club of Elgin was organized on 
6February 19, 1920 and chartered on March 9, 1920; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The Kiwanis Club of Elgin is part of the worldwide 
8organization of men and women who share the challenge of 
9community and world improvement; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, The Kiwanis Club of Elgin has contributed to the 
11Kiwanis District Neuroscience Research Foundation and Kiwanis 
12International Projects to eliminate iodine deficiency 
13worldwide and to eliminate maternal neonatal tetanus 
14worldwide; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, The Kiwanis Club of Elgin has partnered with the 
16Gail Borden Public Library
District to create and maintain the 
17ReaderShip Van for preschool children and purchase the 
18bookmobile for all library district residents; and
 
19    WHEREAS, The Kiwanis Club of Elgin collaborated to create 
20Kiwanis Park on National
Street in Elgin; and

1    WHEREAS, The Kiwanis Club of Elgin has contributed over one 
2million dollars to local
organizations serving children; 
3therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
5HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
6we congratulate the Kiwanis Club of Elgin on its 100th 
7anniversary, and we wish them many more successful years; and 
8be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the Kiwanis Club of Elgin as a symbol of our 
11respect and esteem.
