HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Zonta International on 
4the occasion of its 100th anniversary on November 8, 2019; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Zonta International is based in Oak Brook in the 
647th Representative District; it is a worldwide organization 
7that helps raise the status of women and girls in the areas of 
8education, health, social justice, exploitation, and domestic 
9violence; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Zonta International was founded in Buffalo, New 
11York in 1919; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Today, Zonta International oversees approximately 
1329,000 members and 1,200 clubs  in 63 countries; there are five 
14Zonta Clubs in the Chicago area, including one in Oak Brook; 
15and
  
 
  
16    WHEREAS, Zonta International envisions a world in which 
17women's rights are recognized as human rights and every woman 
18is able to achieve her full potential; therefore, be it
  
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
20HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1we congratulate Zonta International on its 100th anniversary, 
2and we wish the members many more wonderful years; and be it

4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
