| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Kristine M. Condon, |
| 4 | | Ed.D., on the occasion of her retirement after 30 years of |
| 5 | | service to the Supreme Court of Illinois and the Illinois |
| 6 | | community college system, including 22 years as Professor and |
| 7 | | Program Coordinator of Kankakee Community College's |
| 8 | | Paralegal/Legal Assistant Studies Program; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Condon earned her Bachelor of Arts in Social |
| 10 | | Science, magna cum laude, from Illinois Wesleyan University; |
| 11 | | she earned her Master of Education in Adult and Corporate |
| 12 | | Instructional Management from Loyola University of Chicago; |
| 13 | | she earned her Doctor of Education in Community College |
| 14 | | Leadership from National Louis University in 2014; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Prior to her role as professor and program |
| 16 | | coordinator, Dr. Condon's first role at KCC was as a computer |
| 17 | | instructor in 1998; she became a KCC assistant professor in |
| 18 | | 2000 and then advanced to the position of KCC professor in |
| 19 | | 2001; she became a KCC professor and program coordinator in |
| 20 | | 2002; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, During her tenure, she was instrumental in the |
| 22 | | growth and success of KCC's Paralegal/Legal Assistant Studies |
|

| 1 | | program; her efforts include the program gaining American Bar |
| 2 | | Association approval, the LEX Alumni Chapter's Alumni |
| 3 | | Mentoring Network earning an Honorable Mention in Student |
| 4 | | Retention Practices from the National Council of Instructional |
| 5 | | Administrators, six students becoming national winners of the |
| 6 | | American Association for Paralegal Education LEX National |
| 7 | | Scholarship, and its 2019 Law Week programming finishing second |
| 8 | | in the nation; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Condon's expertise is regularly sought, and |
| 10 | | she has been a guest presenter at many regional conferences; |
| 11 | | she has been the recipient of a number of honors and awards, |
| 12 | | including the 2018 ACT Postsecondary Champion Award, the 2017 |
| 13 | | Will County Bar Association's Nonlawyer Service to the |
| 14 | | Community Award, and the 2014 Kankakee Community College |
| 15 | | President's Leadership Award; she has also authored several |
| 16 | | intellectual property copyrights and publications; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Condon is involved in a number of professional |
| 18 | | and community-based associations, including the Illinois |
| 19 | | Justice Corps Committee of the Illinois Supreme Court |
| 20 | | Commission on Access to Justice; she developed the Illinois |
| 21 | | Civics Academy for Teachers, a civics education professional |
| 22 | | development program for high school faculty; therefore, be it
|
| 23 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |

| 1 | | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 2 | | we congratulate Kristine M. Condon, Ed.D., on the occasion of |
| 3 | | her retirement after 30 years of service to the Supreme Court |
| 4 | | of Illinois and the Illinois community college system, |
| 5 | | including 22 years as Professor and Program Coordinator of |
| 6 | | Kankakee Community College's Paralegal/Legal Assistant Studies |
| 7 | | Program; and be it further

| 8 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 9 | | presented to Dr. Condon as an expression of our respect and |
