HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Lincoln-Way East cheerleading team, the Griffins, for winning the Large School Division Championship at the IHSA State Cheerleading Meet on February 7-8, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Led by Head Coaches Jayson Polad and Julianne Polad, the Griffins began the weekend with the best score of the opening round preliminaries at 93.49 and subsequently scored even better at 94.96 to win the championship; and

WHEREAS, With this win, the Griffins have earned their fifth title in the past seven seasons; and

WHEREAS, The Lincoln-Way East State Champion cheerleading team roster includes Peyton Anderson, Emma Barnard, Sophia Barnard, Rylie Bolsoni, Kylen Boundas, Chloe Brokop, Jackalyn Brown, Emily Caruso, Alexis Chiuccariello, Riley Feehery, Chloe Friend, Tiffani Gergely, Alyssa Goodman, Karley Kalchbrenner, Grace Karana, Devyn Mangin, Leah Ortiz, Adam Paul, Caroline Roney, Alexa Selvaggio, Sophia Sladek, Sarah Toussaint, Ava Wise, and Julia Zelenika; and

WHEREAS, The Griffins are led by Head Coaches Jayson Polad and Julianne Polad, in addition to Assistant Coaches Rachel Rodriguez, Jen Stefan, Madysen Enright, and Ryan Hosman; they are further guided by Choreographer Derrick Ramel and Tumbling Coach Joe Jaworski; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Lincoln-Way East cheerleading team, the Griffins, for winning the Large School Division Championship at the 2020 IHSA State Cheerleading Meet and wish the program future success; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to Lincoln-Way East High School Head Coaches Jayson Polad and Julianne Polad, Superintendent Dr. Scott Tingley, Principal Dr. Sharon Michalak, and Athletic Director Mark Vander Kooi as an expression of our respect and esteem.
