| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Mr. Anthony Tegtmeyer on | ||||||
| 4 | being named the Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Engineering Teacher | ||||||
| 5 | of the Year at the recent PLTW Summit in Indianapolis; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Anthony Tegtmeyer is a teacher at Neuqua Valley | ||||||
| 7 | High School in Indian Prairie School District 204 in | ||||||
| 8 | Naperville; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Anthony Tegtmeyer is a PLTW Master Teacher for | ||||||
| 10 | Engineering Design and Development; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Anthony Tegtmeyer worked as an industry engineer | ||||||
| 12 | for more than 20 years before becoming a high school | ||||||
| 13 | engineering teacher; his experience has been a great resource | ||||||
| 14 | to students who attend Neuqua Valley High School; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Anthony Tegtmeyer leads a rigorous engineering | ||||||
| 16 | curriculum at Neuqua Valley High School, including | ||||||
| 17 | Introduction to Engineering Design, Principles of Engineering, | ||||||
| 18 | Civil Engineering and Architecture, Digital Electronics, and | ||||||
| 19 | Engineering Design and Development, with Aerospace Engineering | ||||||
| 20 | to be added as a curriculum offering in the fall of 2020; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Through this coursework, his students learn | ||||||
| 2 | transferable skills through project-based and problem-based | ||||||
| 3 | learning, which provides students with real-world | ||||||
| 4 | applications; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Anthony Tegtmeyer enhances these learning | ||||||
| 6 | opportunities by inviting guest speakers from local companies | ||||||
| 7 | to teach students through hands-on learning experiences; he | ||||||
| 8 | also utilizes cross-curricular opportunities to tie | ||||||
| 9 | engineering to marketing; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, The success and growth of the PLTW program has led | ||||||
| 11 | to competitions and generous scholarship offerings for | ||||||
| 12 | students; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 14 | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 15 | we congratulate Anthony Tegtmeyer on recently being named the | ||||||
| 16 | PLTW Engineering Teacher of the Year; and be it further
| ||||||
| 17 | RESOLVED, That we thank Anthony Tegtmeyer for answering the | ||||||
| 18 | call to teach and for being a positive influence on the | ||||||
| 19 | engineering students at Neuqua Valley High School; and be it | ||||||
| 20 | further

| 21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
