HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate brothers Bilal Jr., 
4Sincere, and Nasir Bailey for each winning 2A State 
5championships in high school wrestling; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, All three Bailey brothers, sons of Bilal Sr. and 
7LaKizzy Bailey, are coached by Tim Springs on the Thornton 
8Fractional North High School wrestling team; Bilal Jr. is a 
9senior weighing in at 160 pounds, Sincere is a junior weighing 
10in at 145 pounds, and Nasir is a freshman weighing in at 120 
11pounds;    and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, The Bailey brothers have all been wrestling since 
13they were little, following in the footsteps of their 
14grandfather who was a state champion wrestler in the 1970s;  and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, This is the second state championship for Bilal 
16Jr. and the first state championships for Sincere and Nasir; 
17there are now seven state championships in the family; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, This is the first time in our State's history that 
19three brothers have won individual state titles in the same 
20year; and

1    WHEREAS, All three brothers want to continue wrestling in 
2college and hope to someday compete in the Olympics; therefore, 
3be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
5HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
6we congratulate Bilal Jr., Sincere, and Nasir Bailey for each 
7winning  2A State championships in high school wrestling, and we 
8wish them many more successful years; and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
10presented to the Bailey brothers and their coach as a
symbol of 
11our respect and esteem.
