| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to recognize achievements in the | ||||||
| 4 | lives of Illinois citizens; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mandy Ellis has | ||||||
| 6 | been named the 2020 Illinois
Elementary School Principal of the | ||||||
| 7 | Year by Horace Mann and the Illinois Principals Association | ||||||
| 8 | (IPA); and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Mandy Ellis has had a positive impact on education | ||||||
| 10 | and advocacy for children; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Mandy Ellis ensures the school climate is positive | ||||||
| 12 | and reflects high staff and student morale and involves the | ||||||
| 13 | community with regular communications and an open-door policy; | ||||||
| 14 | and | ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Mandy Ellis works collaboratively with teachers | ||||||
| 16 | and other staff to improve educational programming; and | ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Mandy Ellis has served as principal of Dunlap | ||||||
| 18 | Grade School for eight years; and | ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Mandy Ellis serves as Central Illinois Valley | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | Region State Director and has been a member of the board of
| ||||||
| 2 | directors of the Illinois Principals Association since 2012; | ||||||
| 3 | and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Mandy Ellis has been active as a member of the | ||||||
| 5 | State Superintendent Principal Advisory Committee
and a member | ||||||
| 6 | of the IPA Educational Leaders Annual Conference small group | ||||||
| 7 | selection committee; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Mandy Ellis is an active member of the Peoria | ||||||
| 9 | community; she served as a past chair of the Peoria Playhouse
| ||||||
| 10 | Children's Committee Capital Campaign, a representative for | ||||||
| 11 | Peoria during the 2013 campaign to become
an All-America City, | ||||||
| 12 | and a founding member of the Young Professionals of Greater | ||||||
| 13 | Peoria; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 14 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 15 | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 16 | we congratulate Mandy Ellis on being named the 2020 Illinois | ||||||
| 17 | Elementary School Principal of the Year; and be it further
| ||||||
| 18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of the resolution be | ||||||
| 19 | presented to Mandy Ellis as an expression of our
esteem and | ||||||
| 20 | respect.
