HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Floyd E. 
4Henderson of Peoria, who passed away on June 21, 2020; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Floyd Henderson was born to Nathaniel and Addie 
6(Slaughter) Henderson on December 13, 1957; he was a talented 
7athlete at Peoria Central High School, where he graduated in 
81976; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Floyd Henderson worked with the local labor union 
10in landscaping and construction; he was known as the 
11neighborhood helper and  enjoyed helping friends and family with 
12landscaping projects; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Floyd Henderson was a member of the 1975 Peoria 
14Central High Football team that was inducted into the Greater 
15Peoria Sports Hall of Fame; he loved his family and spending 
16time with them; he also enjoyed jazz music and traveling; he 
17was an avid reader and  a member of Mt. Zion M. B. Church; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Floyd Henderson was preceded in death by his 
19parents and his sister, Evelyn Carwell; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Floyd Henderson is survived by his daughter,

1Monica (Roma Jr.) Wallace; his  sister, Nancy Gayles; his 
2cousin, Charles Brown; his  grandchildren, Kayla, AJ, and 
3Christian; and numerous other family members and friends; 
4therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
6HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
7we mourn the passing of Floyd E. Henderson and extend our 
8sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew 
9and loved him; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to  the family of  Floyd Henderson as an expression of 
12our deepest sympathy.
