HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, Amirah Marie Jones lives in Johnston City, where 
3she attends Crab Orchard School and will be in the 4th grade 
4this fall; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Amirah's family, her mother Jaleigha Marie Jones, 
6her father Corey Lee Black, her brother Kolton Lee Black, and 
7her grandparents Randy and Leasa Jones and Tandi and Greg 
8Fernandez, love her very much; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, The community of Johnston City has rallied 
10together in support of Amirah as she has bravely battled 
11illness; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, The community of Johnston City and Amirah's family 
13worked together to organize a day celebrating the beautiful and 
14positive impact that she has had on her family and on her 
15community; and
  
 
  
16    WHEREAS, On Sunday, July 12, 2020, Johnston City hosted a 
17celebratory parade in Amirah's honor; therefore, be it
  
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
19HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
20we join together with the people of Williamson County and

1Johnston City to honor Amirah Marie Jones for her bravery and 
2courage and for the love and community spirit she has inspired; 
3and be it further
  
 
4    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
5presented to Amirah, to Amirah's family, and to Johnston City 
6officials.
