| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Petefish, Skiles & Co. |
| 4 | | Bank on the occasion of its 150th anniversary; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, The private banking firm of Petefish, Skiles & Co. |
| 6 | | Bank opened its doors for business in Virginia, Illinois on |
| 7 | | August 1, 1870 and has diligently served its customers for 150 |
| 8 | | years; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Petefish, Skiles and Co. Bank is a locally-owned |
| 10 | | community bank and is committed to helping residents and |
| 11 | | businesses by serving the financial needs of Cass, Mason, and |
| 12 | | Menard Counties; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Prominent local businessmen Samuel H. Petefish, |
| 14 | | Ignatius Skiles, and Jacob Epler founded the firm with Richard |
| 15 | | Elliott as cashier; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, On September 24, 1902, a charter was granted from |
| 17 | | the State of Illinois to S.H. Petefish, L.A. Petefish, Matt |
| 18 | | Yaple, and Oswell Skiles, incorporating the bank; the bank's |
| 19 | | capital at that time was $60,000 and was one of the most |
| 20 | | successful and substantial in the county; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Petefish, Skiles, & Co. Bank has continued to grow |
| 2 | | into a dynamic company, accumulating over $210,000,000 in |
| 3 | | assets in 150 years; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Petefish, Skiles & Co. Bank is an active member of |
| 5 | | the Community Bankers Association of Illinois (CBAI) and is |
| 6 | | dedicated to CBAI's mission of keeping community banks |
| 7 | | competitive for the benefit of their customers and the |
| 8 | | communities they serve through delivery of quality education, |
| 9 | | effective representation, and essential products and services; |
| 10 | | and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Petefish, Skiles & Co. Bank has contributed to the |
| 12 | | economic vitality of central Illinois, and they remain |
| 13 | | dedicated to fulfilling the community banking needs of Cass, |
| 14 | | Mason, and Menard Counties; therefore, be it
|
| 15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 16 | | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 17 | | we congratulate Petefish, Skiles & Co. Bank on its 150th |
| 18 | | anniversary, and we wish them many more successful years; and |
| 19 | | be it further
