| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Rudolph |
| 4 | | "Rudy" Booth of Peoria, who passed away on July 20, 2020; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Rudolph Booth was born in Blue Mountain, |
| 6 | | Mississippi to Wilbo and Junie Bell (Rutherford) Booth on |
| 7 | | December 1, 1943; he settled in Peoria as a young adult; he |
| 8 | | married Yvonne Stenson, and they celebrated 50 years of |
| 9 | | marriage on November 17, 2019; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Rudolph Booth worked at Caterpillar for over 35 |
| 11 | | years; after retirement, he worked in the hospitality industry, |
| 12 | | last working at the Embassy Suites and the Visitors Bureau; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Rudolph Booth was a member of St. Paul Baptist |
| 14 | | Church, where he served as head usher and with the van ministry |
| 15 | | and men's group; he never met a stranger and had the gift of |
| 16 | | hospitality, always greeting folks with a huge smile and hug; |
| 17 | | he enjoyed Manual High School Basketball and was a member of |
| 18 | | various bowling leagues; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Rudolph Booth was preceded in death by his |
| 20 | | parents; his twin sister, Ruchelle Booth Hill; his brother, |
| 21 | | James Booth; and his grandson, Derrick "DJ" Booth Jr.; and
