| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Eddie Lee |
| 4 | | Jackson Sr. of East St. Louis, who passed away on December 18, |
| 5 | | 2020; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Eddie Jackson was born to Aaron Jackson and Fannie |
| 7 | | Mae Jackson in Canalou, Missouri on July 14, 1949; he graduated |
| 8 | | from East St. Louis Senior High School in 1967; he married |
| 9 | | Pearlie Mae Rich in October of 1969; he attended Southern |
| 10 | | Illinois University Edwardsville where he became a member of |
| 11 | | Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and earned a bachelor's degree |
| 12 | | in Education and later a master's degree focused on City |
| 13 | | Planning; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Eddie Jackson started his political career in East |
| 15 | | St. Louis in the early 1970s and served on the East St. Louis |
| 16 | | City Council for more than 30 years; after retiring from East |
| 17 | | St. Louis School district 189 where he was a science teacher |
| 18 | | and gifted administrator, he served in the Illinois House of |
| 19 | | Representatives for 8 years, from 2009 to 2017, representing |
| 20 | | the 114th District; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Eddie attended Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist |
| 22 | | Church and was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. for |
