| 4 | | "Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 5-30b as follows:

| 7 | | Sec. 5-30b. Managed care exemption; nursing home |
| 8 | | residents. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the |
| 9 | | Department shall not require any resident of a nursing home |
| 10 | | licensed under the Nursing Home Care Act to enroll in or |
| 11 | | transition to the State's managed care medical assistance |
| 12 | | program, including any demonstration program operated by |
| 13 | | contract with the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid |
| 14 | | Services or its successor.
