| 4 | | "Section 5. The Illinois Procurement Code is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 25-47 as follows:

| 6 | | (30 ILCS 500/25-47 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 25-47. Renewable energy resources contracts or |
| 8 | | leases. State purchasing officers or a State agency may enter |
| 9 | | into renewable energy resources contracts and leases for a |
| 10 | | period of time deemed to be in the best interest of the State, |
| 11 | | but not exceeding 25 years inclusive of proposed contract or |
| 12 | | lease renewals. For the purposes of this Section, "renewable |
| 13 | | energy resources" has the meaning ascribed to that term in |
| 14 | | Section 1-10 of the Illinois
Power Agency Act.

| 15 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
