AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 654 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 654, AS AMENDED, 
3with reference to page and line numbers of House  Amendment No. 
42, as follows:


 
5on page 2, line 16, by deleting "18.5,"; and
 
6on page 31, line 19, by replacing "assistant professor 
7instructor" with "instructor"; and
 
8by replacing line 19 on page 38 through line 7 on page 39 with 
9the following:
10    "(e) Any person who has been duly licensed as a 
11professional engineer by the Department and who chooses to 
12deactivate or not renew his or her license may use the title 
13"Professional Engineer, Retired". Those persons using the 
14title "Professional Engineer, Retired" may request restoration 
15to active status under the applicable provisions of Sections

117, 17.5, and 18 of this Act.
2    The use of the title "Professional Engineer, Retired" shall 
3not constitute representation of current licensure. Any person 
4without an active license shall not be permitted to practice 
5engineering as defined in this Act.
6    Nothing in this Section shall be construed to require the 
7Department to issue any certificate, credential, or other 
8document indicating that a person has been granted the title, 
9"Professional Engineer, Retired"."; and
 
10by deleting line 16 on page 40 through line 9 on page 41.
