| 4 | | "Section 5. The Veterans Burial Places Act is amended by |
| 5 | | changing Section 1.1 as follows:

| 6 | | (330 ILCS 110/1.1) (from Ch. 21, par. 59a1)

| 7 | | Sec. 1.1.
When a headstone or memorial marker is provided |
| 8 | | for a United
States War Veteran by the United States Government |
| 9 | | pursuant to Section
2306 of Title 38 of the United States Code, |
| 10 | | the Department of
Veterans' Affairs shall pay an amount not to |
| 11 | | exceed $125 $100 to the
next of kin or $100 to the cemetery |
| 12 | | official responsible
for
the cost of transporting and erecting |
| 13 | | the headstone or memorial. However, no
such payment shall be |
| 14 | | made unless a signed application is presented to the
Department |
| 15 | | by the next of kin or cemetery official, along with such other |
| 16 | | proof
of transportation or erection charges
as the Department |
