AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1392




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1392 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
4    "Section 5. The University of Illinois Scientific Surveys 
5Act is amended  by adding Section 22 as follows:
 
6    (110 ILCS 425/22 new)
7    Sec. 22. Microplastics report.
8    (a) Subject to appropriation, the Prairie Research 
9Institute shall conduct a detailed review of the available 
10scientific literature and federal and State laws, regulations, 
11and rules to identify the threat of microplastics to human 
12health and the environment.
13    (b) No later than 3 months after completion of the review 
14conducted under subsection (a), the Prairie Research Institute 
15shall submit to the General Assembly a report of its findings 
16that must include any recommendations for legislative or

1regulatory actions that the State can take to protect human 
2health and the environment from microplastics.
3    (c) This Section is repealed on July 1, 2021.".
