| 3 | | immediately below line 3, by inserting the following:

| 4 | | "Section 5. The Department of Public Health Powers and |
| 5 | | Duties Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is |
| 6 | | amended by adding Section 2310-455 as follows:
|
| 7 | | (20 ILCS 2310/2310-455 new) |
| 8 | | Sec. 2310-455. Office of Suicide Prevention. |
| 9 | | (a) There is created within the Department the Office of |
| 10 | | Suicide Prevention, which shall be staffed by a director and |
| 11 | | other personnel necessary for the performance of the functions |
| 12 | | of the Office of Suicide Prevention under the Suicide |
| 13 | | Prevention, Education, and Treatment Act. |
| 14 | | (b) The duties of the Office of Suicide Prevention shall |
| 15 | | include, but shall not be limited to, the following: |
| 16 | | (1) Coordinating suicide prevention, intervention, and |

| 1 | | postvention programs, services, and efforts statewide. |
| 2 | | (2) Developing and submitting proposals for funding |
| 3 | | from federal agencies or other sources of funding to |
| 4 | | promote suicide prevention and coordinate activities. |
| 5 | | (3) With input from the Illinois Suicide Prevention |
| 6 | | Alliance, preparing the Illinois Suicide Prevention |
| 7 | | Strategic Plan required under Section 15 of the Suicide |
| 8 | | Prevention, Education, and Treatment Act and coordinating |
| 9 | | the activities necessary to implement the recommendations |
| 10 | | in that Plan. |
| 11 | | (4) With input from the Illinois Suicide Prevention |
| 12 | | Alliance, providing to the Governor and General Assembly |
| 13 | | the annual report required under Section 13 of the Suicide |
| 14 | | Prevention, Education, and Treatment Act. |
| 15 | | (5) Providing technical support for the activities of |
| 16 | | the Illinois Suicide Prevention Alliance."; and

| 17 | | on page 1, line 4, by replacing "5" with "10"; and
|
| 18 | | on page 1, line 6, by deleting "25,".
