| 1 | | AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2097

| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2097 by replacing |
| 3 | | everything from line 21 on page 12 through line 11 on page 13 |
| 4 | | with the following:

| 5 | | "from the date of sale. If, however, the court that ordered the
|
| 6 | | property sold, upon the verified petition of the holder of the |
| 7 | | certificate of
purchase brought within 4 months from the date |
| 8 | | of sale, finds and declares that
the structure on the property |
| 9 | | is abandoned, then the court may order that the
property may be |
| 10 | | redeemed at any time on or before (i) the expiration of 2 years
|
| 11 | | from the date of sale if the holder of the certificate of |
| 12 | | purchase is not a unit of local government or (ii) the |
| 13 | | expiration of 6 months
from the date of sale if the holder of |
| 14 | | the certificate of purchase is a unit of local government. |
| 15 | | Notice of the hearing on a petition to declare the
property |
| 16 | | abandoned shall be given to the owner or owners".
