Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that the Secretary of State may issue Air Force Combat Action Medal license plates to residents who meet eligibility requirements prescribed by the Secretary.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Aeronautics Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 3-698.5 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (620 ILCS 5/3-698.5 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 3-698.5. Air Force Combat Action Medal license plates. |
| 8 | | (a) In addition to any other special license plate, the |
| 9 | | Secretary, upon receipt of all applicable fees and applications |
| 10 | | made in the form prescribed by the Secretary, may issue Air |
| 11 | | Force Combat Action Medal license plates to residents of this |
| 12 | | State who meet eligibility requirements prescribed by the |
| 13 | | Secretary. The special Air Force Combat Action Medal plate |
| 14 | | issued under this Section shall be affixed only to passenger |
| 15 | | vehicles of the first division, motorcycles, and motor vehicles |
| 16 | | of the second division weighing not more than 8,000 pounds. |
| 17 | | Plates issued under this Section shall expire according to the |
| 18 | | staggered multi-year procedure established by Section 3-414.1. |
| 19 | | (b) The plates shall display the Air Force Combat Action |
| 20 | | Medal. In all other respects, the design, color, and format of |
| 21 | | the plates shall be within the discretion of the Secretary. The |
| 22 | | Secretary may allow the plates to be issued as vanity plates or |
| 23 | | personalized in accordance with Section 3-405.1 of this Code. |
