SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Dale O. Campbell of Pontiac, who passed away on January 23, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Dale Campbell was born in Stratford, South Dakota to Oliver and Lenora (Stange) Campbell on May 8, 1929; he graduated from Pontiac Township High School in 1947; he married Mildred "Millie" Burton in Pontiac on June 25, 1950; he served in the Illinois National Guard; and

WHEREAS, Dale Campbell was employed by the Thomas Jefferson Life Insurance Co. and later at the Illinois Emergency Management Agency for several years; and

WHEREAS, Dale Campbell was very involved within the City of Pontiac, serving as an alderman for eight years, as the mayor for eight years, and as the Pontiac Township Tax Assessor for eight years; he also served on the Livingston County Board for eight years; and

WHEREAS, Dale Campbell was a member of the Mohammed Shriner's Temple and the First Presbyterian Church in Pontiac; he enjoyed helping children; he was also an avid Cubs and Bears fan; and

WHEREAS, Dale Campbell was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred "Millie" Burton; his brother, Donald Campbell; and his sisters, Lois Hakes and Harriett Wagner; and

WHEREAS, Dale Campbell is survived by his children, Sandy (Richard) Hamilton and Scot (Paula) Campbell; his granddaughters, Jennifer Johnson and Joanna Hamilton; his four great-granddaughters; his brother, Dean Campbell; his two brothers-in-law; and his five sisters-in-law; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Dale Campbell and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dale O. Campbell as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
