SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, Division 96 of the Brotherhood of Locomotive 
3Engineers and Trainmen will celebrate the 150th anniversary of 
4its charter in Chicago on January 16, 2019; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Division 96 is an extraordinary organization 
6whose membership and leadership still work as hard today as 
7they did in 1869; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Division 96's active and retired members have 
9devoted their lives to a great public service industry, 
10providing both public transportation and moving freight; and
  
 

  
11    WHEREAS, Members of Division 96 have maintained a 
12distinguished record of service for over 150 years; therefore, 
13be it
  
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate 
16Division 96 Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen on 
17the occasion of its 150th anniversary; and be it further
  
 
18    RESOLVED, That we declare January 16, 2019 as "Division 96 
19Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen Day" in the 
20State of Illinois in honor of their members longstanding

1dedication to public service; and be it further
 
2    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
3presented to Division 96 as an expression of our esteem and 
4respect.
